This is the eighth part of an eight-part series examining each position in the NFL draft and what the Seattle Seahawks’ needs are at those positions. The players listed are the top prospect in the draft at their position, with their college, height and weight provided:
KICKER
1. Roberto Aguayo, Florida State, 6-0, 207
PUNTER
1. Tom Hackett, Utah, 5-10, 198
LONG SNAPPER
1. Nathan Theus, Georgia, 6-3, 243
Seahawks’ situation: If there’s a special teams position in flux, it’s long snapper as Seattle has already churned through two long snappers this offseason — Clint Gresham, Andrew East — before settling on Drew Ferris. However, it’s hard to imaging the Seahawks burning a draft pick on a long snapper. Seattle re-signed punter Jon Ryan, and Steven Hauschka is coming off an excellent season, so it would be surprising if the Seahawks addressed either position in the draft.
