New president for state Life Sciences trade association

Life Science Washington, the state’s life science trade association, has named Leslie M. Alexandre as its new president and CEO effective May 31. Alexandre is an established business leader and 30-year veteran of the life sciences and health care industries. Her background includes leadership roles in biotechnology and health care start-ups, as well as Fortune 500 companies.

Smokey Point Distributing wins safety award

Smokey Point Distributing announced that it recently earned a first place national safety award from the Truckload Carriers Association. Last year, the Arlington company was honored with another safety award by Great West Casualty Company. Smokey Point Distributing has just a 16 percent driver turnover — about six times better than the industry average.

Snohomish County HR Association awarded for work in 2015

The Society for Human Resource Management recently awarded the Snohomish County Human Resources Association its prestigious Excel Gold Award for its accomplishments in 2015. The award is part of the Society for Human Resource Management Affiliate Program for Excellence, which aligns individual chapters and councils’ activities with aspirations for the Human Resource profession.

EvergreenHealth Monroe honored for its Wound Healing Center

EvergreenHealth Monroe’s Wound Healing Center has been honored with the Center of Distinction award by Healogics for its high patient satisfaction and exemplary wound healing rates. According to Healogics, the Wound Healing Center surpasses national benchmarks in several key performance areas including patient satisfaction at 97 percent, wound healing rates at 95 percent and median days to heal at 23 days.
