MOUNT VERNON — Officials say an early Sunday morning fire has destroyed two businesses in Mount Vernon.
Mount Vernon Fire Chief Roy Hari told the Skagit Valley Herald that no one was injured in the blaze, and the cause is still under investigation.
Hari says that firefighters put water on the fire coming out of Craft Stove, but the blazed eventually moved to the adjoining Hansen’s Furniture building.
It took more than three hours for firefighters to get the flames under control.
Hari estimated the cost of the damage could exceed $2 million.
