Tuesday’s best bets on TV include:
“Janis: Little Girl Blue — American Masters” is a compelling profile of iconic rock singer Janis Joplin. The film features letters she wrote her parents, archival footage, insights from family members and interviews with artists influenced by Joplin. 8 p.m., PBS.
After a long wait, “Person of Interest” finally returns for its fifth and final season. In the opener, Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Finch (Michael Emerson) try to save the Machine’s source code before it deteriorates beyond repair. 10 p.m., CBS.
