Author Sandra Walker will tell of early newspaper deliveries as described in her book, “Seeing It Their Way: The Era and Errors of Youth Delivering Newspapers,” at the next meeting of the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society, set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 13 of the Family History Center at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 22015 48th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace. Guests are welcome.
The genealogical society’s library is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Talent show: The Marysville Strawberry Festival Talent Show seeks entrants for its 2016 auditions, to be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 16 and May 17 at the Marysville Pilchuck High School auditorium, 5611 108th St. NE. The deadline for entries is May 13. The talent show will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 14. Organizers seek all ages, solo or group acts, in vocal, dance, comedy, bands, piano and other categories. New fire site: Snohomish County Fire District 17 in Granite Falls has revamped its website: gffd17.org. Visitors to the new site now can view minutes from the board of fire commissioners. There also is information on how parents can schedule a fire station tour for children. Two weeks’ notice is requested for station tours. The district has two fire stations, one in the heart of town and one at 8423 163rd Ave. NE.
