OLYMPIA — Republican presidential nominee hopeful Ted Cruz will be in Washington state this week.
Cruz has a public rally planned in Spokane Wednesday afternoon, ahead of a private fundraiser in Redmond that evening. He also has a public rally planned in Bothell on Thursday morning, according to his campaign website. Saul Gamoran, Cruz’s Washington campaign chairman, confirmed Tuesday that Cruz also will hold a rally Thursday afternoon in Vancouver.
Cruz’s visit comes ahead of a possible visit of Donald Trump this weekend, though no details of a Washington visit have been officially released. John Kasich is also likely to visit the state next Monday, though his campaign has not yet released any further details. The state Republican Party announced Tuesday that Kasich would attend the party’s state convention on May 19.
The state’s presidential primary is on May 24, with 44 delegates at stake.
