Bank account thieves could be trying to cheat you, too. Recently, I received an authentic-looking-check made in the amount of $3,750. However, there is a $3,400 processing fee with instructions to strictly follow the instructions of the person whose name and telephone number were given.
According to similar past cases, a person following those instructions wound up with empty bank accounts.
So, please be aware and don’t be fooled by a large phony-looking check.
