The Seahawks’ rookie minicamp takes place Friday through Sunday at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, and on Thursday Seattle apparently signed the first of their 10 draft picks.
The agency for defensive tackle Jarran Reed, selected in the second round of last weekend’s draft, tweeted the following:
Jarran Reed (@1j_reed) and the @Seahawks have agreed to terms on his rookie contract!

Reed, out of Alabama, is thought to be the player who will have the greatest immediate impact. The run-stopping DT has a chance to slot straight into the starting lineup in place of Brandon Mebane, who departed via free agency.
Draft-pick signing is largely a formality as dollar amounts are slotted based on draft position.
The Seahawks have also signed 13 undrafted free agents who will attend rookie minicamp, as well as extended invitations to attend to several other undrafted players.
