EVERETT — The Snohomish County elections office released the final count of votes in the April 26 special election on Thursday.
The count doesn’t change the overall results of the vote from election night. The Everett and Marysville school districts were both running financing packages on the ballot.
In Everett, Proposition 1 asked voters to approve an $89.6 million levy to pay for a variety of technology and security upgrades. That measure passed with 65.1 percent in favor out of 21,949 total ballots.
Proposition 2 in Everett asked votes to approve a $149.7 million bond measure to fund school construction and upgrades. That measure also passed, with 62.2 percent voting “yes” out of 21,865 ballots.
By contrast, a $230 million bond measure in Marysville that would have paid for replacement and new schools, plus upgrades, failed to garner the 60 percent supermajority it needed to pass. Only 50.5 percent of 13,703 total votes were in favor.
A total of 36,082 ballots were received in the election, for an official return rate of 30.5 percent.
The election results are scheduled to be certified on Friday.
