SEATTLE — A couple who lives in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood was making breakfast when they heard a loud crash and the sound of breaking glass. A drone had just smashed into their dining room window.
KING-TV reported that homeowner Wenjun Chen initially thought a bird had crashed into their home, but Chen’s husband went outside and found a drone lying on the ground with a camera attached. It was still recording.
The couple called Seattle police and they took the drone into custody. Officers hope to get a warrant to review the footage recorded by the drone’s camera, in hopes of identifying the pilot.
The incident on Thursday is the latest in a string of run-ins people and places in Seattle have had with the unmanned aircraft.
