I wanted to let you know that there is a newspaper carrier who saved our dog in the early hours of May 6. His name is Jose, lives in Monroe with his two children and wife and has delivered papers for 10 years now for your company. We recently moved to this home in north Everett and thought our yard was secure, apparently not, Joey is a small, long-haired Chihuahua so he could fit places we didn’t notice. He is 11 years old and has a heart condition that means he needs his medication every morning. We posted missing flyers all over north Everett and there was a man going around ripping them down, so this made us believe he has to be the one who has him and doesn’t want anyone to know. The horror stories we heard got worse and heightened our fear. We posted everywhere on social media, Nextdoor.com was extremely helpful, just the strength of a community is unreal.
We also went on Facebook and posted to Lost Dogs of Snohomish county No. 1 and those who follow them shared, commented and offered so much help. But when it came down to it, good ol’ flyers helped our Joey to get home. We just wanted you to recognize Jose and know you have an upstanding employee. He could have left him running around or kept him and we would never known the truth. This is a miracle and we are lucky to have a guy like this in our community.
