EVERETT — Snohomish County Councilmembers are preparing on Wednesday to discuss setting rules for operating small breweries, wineries and distilleries in rural parts of the county.
A hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. in council chambers on the eighth floor of the Robert J. Drewel building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.
The proposed regulations would address stand-alone commercial operations with production facilities, retail sales and tasting rooms.
The rules would apply to agricultural land designated as Ag-10. A potential sticking point is whether to allow the alcohol businesses in denser rural zones designated as R-5 land, where the county typically allows one house per five acres.
Council members could reach a decision on Wednesday or extend the hearing to a future date.
