SEATTLE — A man who served more than two decades behind bars for the killing of an 11-year-old girl is now facing child molestation charges.
KOMO-TV reported that Michael Sanchez pleaded not guilty to child molestation on Monday. He remains jailed on $500,000 bail.
Sanchez is accused of inappropriately touching a 9-year-old girl at a Federal Way park while the girl was fishing on April 30.
Sanchez had served 23 years of a 28-year prison sentence after being convicted in the 1990 death of Shannon Potter. Authorities had said the Pierce County girl was beaten to death after Sanchez lured her into his camper.
