Evergreen Beauty College, radio station to recognize military families

Evergreen Beauty College is partnering with Spirit 105.3 in an event to recognize military kids, families, spouses, and veterans. The event is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. May 23 at the college at 802 SE Everett Mall Way, Suite A, Everett. Evergreen students and licensed staff will be providing free haircuts and facials as well as a barbecue. There will be fun and activities for the whole family including a raffle.

Swedish Edmonds dietitian honored by state

The Washington State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has selected Adam Pazder as Washington State’s Management Award for Excellence recipient for 2016. Pazder works as a manager of nutrition services for Swedish Medical Center in Edmonds. He also works as a consultant dietitian for Nutrition Authority and has worked as the chef manager for Federal Way Public Schools.

Snohomish students, Dream Dinners raise money, pack meals for Africa

Snohomish High School students raised $22,000 and volunteered time to pack healthy meals to fight hunger in Tanzania, Africa. About 75,816 meals were packed at a May 5 event hosted by the Snohomish High School DECA, meal-assembly company Dream Dinners, the Living the Dream Foundation, and the Friends and Family Community Connection. Students also raised $5,000 for a local food bank.
