Friday is the last day for candidates to file to run in the 2016 election, with the deadline at either 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. depending on the office and how a candidate files.
The 5 p.m. deadline applies to in-person filing for offices in any district entirely in Snohomish County, including the 21st Legislative District. Filing for such offices is the responsibility of the Snohomish County auditor, rather than the secretary of state.
The 4 p.m. deadline applies to all on-line filing and to in-person filing for districts that cross county lines, such as the 1st and 32nd legislative districts.
In-person filing is at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office, 3000 Rockefeller Avenue, Everett. Information is available at the Snohomish County elections web site, www.snoco.org/elections or by calling 425-388-3321.
Meanwhile, another deadline passed Thursday. That was the deadline to volunteer to work on a voters’ pamphlet statement in local jurisdictions with measures on the August primary ballot.
