EVERETT — Archbishop Murphy netted all three of its goals in the first half in a win over Aberdeen in a 2A state quarterfinal on Friday night.
Matt Williams scored the first two goals of the game. The last goal of the contest came from Mitchell Lovell with 10 minutes left in the first half.
“Matt (Williams) was brilliant tonight,” Wildcats coach Michael Bartley said. “He’s excellent. He was finishing tonight as well… They were physical and he dealt with it really well.”
With the win Archbishop Murphy moves on to the semifinals and will play the winner of Saturday’s quarterfinal between Sehome and Ridgefield.
The Wildcats defeated Sehome 3-0 in the 2A bi-district championship on May 14.
