OKLAHOMA CITY — Draymond Green and the Warriors can officially exhale.
Golden State’s All-Star forward will be in the lineup for Tuesday’s crucial Game 4 against the Oklahoma Thunder, who lead the best-of-seven Western Conference Finals two games to one.
The NBA opted not to suspend Green for his kick to Steven Adams’ groin in Game 3 Sunday night. Instead, the foul was upgraded to a Flagrant Foul 2 and Green has been fined $25,000.
“After a thorough investigation that included review of all available video angles and interviews with the players involved and the officials working the game, we have determined that Green’s foul was unnecessary and excessive and warranted the upgrade and fine,” NBA vice president Kiki VanDeWeghe said in a statement released by the league.
“During a game, players — at times — flail their legs in an attempt to draw a foul,” VanDeWeghe said, “but Green’s actions in this case warranted an additional penalty.”
The incident occurred with 5:57 remaining in the second quarter of the Thunder’s 133-105 win over the Warriors.
