SEATTLE — A Seattle utility spokesman says an equipment failure at a substation has darkened much of Seattle’s downtown core.
Seattle City Light spokesman Tony White says a large power outage that began around 11:30 a.m. has left thousands of people without power.
He says it’s unclear yet how many buildings are affected by the power outage. Traffic signals through downtown are also not functioning.
Crews expect to restore power within a couple of hours.
