To be clear, I am not a Republican and that may explain my confusion. I have read and been told all my life that elections were about ideas. That the candidate or party with the better ideas would usually win the election. I would like to hear from the Republicans who just a week ago were telling anyone who would listen that Mr. Trump did not represent Republican or American ideas or values and was not fit to be President. Now many of those same people say that Mr. Trump is their man and they will support him. We all know what they are against. The question now is what do they stand for or do they simply have no sense of right and wrong or decency?
Please name one of Mr. Trump’s positive, better ideas that made you change your mind, and don’t just say “because he can win.” Mr. Trump said almost one year ago that the Republican party leaders were weak, and I guess in that respect for once he spoke the truth. He has now taken control of the party and replaced everything its members claimed to stand for with his “great ideas.” Mr. Trump has told and shown all of us very clearly what he stands for, but once again, what do his supporters stand for? Silence!
I almost feel sorry for them, but they created Mr. Trump and now they have to live with him and just maybe if he becomes president we will all have to live with and under him.
I really do feel sorry for our country.
