Another comment about the renaming of Highway 99. How many people know that the Mercer Island Floating Bridge (I-90) was first named the Lacey V. Murrow Bridge and when it sank in November 1990, it was replaced and named the Homer M. Hadley Bridge?
I wonder if our legislators, in their sometimes skewed wisdom, gave any thought to the costs that would be incurred by the local municipalities along the route, to say nothing about all of the businesses.
Why not, as with the Hadley Bridge, place a very nice plaque honoring William P. Stewart somewhere along the 49.13 mile route?
