Where to go for local Memorial Day ceremonies

Memorial Day is Monday. Parades and ceremonies are listed by community.

Arlington: A Memorial Day parade sponsored by American Legion Post 76 starts at 10 a.m. along Olympic Avenue downtown. Ceremony is 12:30 p.m. at the Arlington Cemetery, 20310 67th Ave. NE. Breakfast ($4) served 7-10 a.m. at American Legion Hall, 115 N Olympic Ave.

Edmonds: The city holds a ceremony at 11 a.m. at Edmonds Memorial Cemetery and Columbarium, 820 15th St. SW. Bring a lawn chair. Refreshments to be served. More info: 425-771-4741.

Everett: The Central Memorial Committee hosts a ceremony at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 4504 Broadway. A meatloaf luncheon ($5) follows, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Fleet Reserve Association Branch 170, 6802 Beverly Blvd.

Lake Stevens: American Legion Post 181 hosts a ceremony at 10 a.m. at the War Veterans Memorial, 1808 124th Ave. NE.

Lynnwood: 11 a.m. at Veterans Park, 194th Street SW and 44th Avenue W. Hosted by the city and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040. More info: www.ci.lynnwood.wa.us.

Lynnwood: 11 a.m. at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Road. This year’s dedication honors the Seabees and Combat Engineers of all military branches. Presented by Vietnam Veterans of America Sno-King Chapter 423 and Purdy and Walters.

Marysville: American Legion Post 178 holds a ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Marysville Cemetery, 8801 State Ave., followed by an open house with light lunch, 12-3 p.m. at the Post, 119 Cedar Ave. More info: 360-653-0155, legionpost178wa@gmail.com.

Mill Creek: 9 a.m. ceremony at the Mill Creek Veteran’s Monument, 5429 Bothell-Everett Highway, followed by a parade at 11 a.m. down Main Street (between LA Fitness and Starbucks heading south). More info: 425-921-5737, www.cityofmillcreek.com.

Mukilteo: The Mukilteo Historical Society hosts a program at 10:30 a.m. at Pioneer Cemetery, 513 Webster St., including storytellers Christopher and Margaret Summitt as Mukilteo pioneers Jacob and Mary Fowler. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2100 also takes part. More info: mukilteohistorical.org.

Snohomish: American Legion Post 181 hosts a ceremony at noon at the Machias Cemetery on 135th Avenue SE at 12th Street SE/Silva Street.

Snohomish: American Legion Post 96 hosts a ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, 8601 Riverview Road. More info: 360-568-4090.

Sultan: Veterans of Foreign Wars Martin-Osterholtz Post 9417 of Gold Bar hosts this year’s ceremony, 11 a.m. at the large monument at Sultan Cemetery, located at the east end of Cascade View Drive.
