Sultan testing alarms: The city will be testing its four emergency alarms at 10 a.m. June 25. If the Culmback Dam fails, those living in lower Sultan would have about 45 minutes to leave before the arrival of a 45-foot wall of water and debris. The test is to make sure the sirens are functioning properly. More information or concerns about the testing: 360-793-2231.
Short films capture natural reserve. Friends of Ebey’s will be screening six film shorts made during “Ebey’s Reserves’ FilmSlam” in May. VIP tickets are $100 and include a pre-screening party with hors d’oeuvres, special seating and an after-screening event across the street at Compass Rose. Proceeds will benefit Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve.
