The Everett Silvertips and Hockey Canada announced Monday that four Tips players – Carter Hart, Noah Juulsen, Gino Fairbrother and Brett Kemp – will participate in Team Canada’s men’s camps as part of the National Teams’ Summer Showcase. The event is scheduled from July 26-Aug. 6.

Hart and Juulsen will compete in the Showcase for the second consecutive year and are among the 41 players selected for the National Junior Team Summer Development Camp. The camp is one of the first steps used to evaluate players who are ultimately selected to compete for Canada at the World Juniors, scheduled for Toronto and Montreal Dec. 26-Jan. 5.
Kemp and Fairbrother are playing with Canada’s U-17 development camp and are among 110 players participating. Following the camp’s conclusion the players continue to be evaluated during the regular season before 66 are picked to represent one of the three Team Canada squads at the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge scheduled for Oct.30-Nov. 5 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Both Juulsen and Hart participated in last year’s Canada-Russia Series – another evaluation tool for the World Juniors team – and Juulsen was the final player cut from Team Canada’s World Juniors roster. Both players are eligible for the team this year.
Meanwhile, Hart is expected to be taken in one of the first two rounds of this weekend’s NHL draft in Buffalo, New York. While it’s possible he could go in Friday’s first round, the consensus is that he will likely be selected early Saturday when the second through seventh rounds are held. Hart was ranked No. 2 among North American goalies in the final NHL Central Scouting rankings released in May.
Silvertips winger Patrick Bajkov is also projected to go in the later rounds on Saturday. Bajkov was the No. 113-ranked North American skater in the final Central Scouting rankings.
