ARLINGTON — Officials have identified Cassandra Carpentier, 45, as the Arlington woman who was killed in a crash along Highway 530 on Friday.
It happened just before 6:30 p.m., about 13 miles east of town.
A Marysville man, 31, was eastbound in a Ford Explorer when he crossed the center line, according to a Washington State Patrol memo. The Ford collided with Carpentier’s westbound Chevrolet Tahoe.
The Marysville man was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. Investigators believe he lost control on the wet road while trying to stop, trooper Heather Axtman said Tuesday.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors. Investigators don’t expect to seek criminal charges.
