Glacier Peak’s Seed and Murphy’s Williams headline WSSCA All-State Soccer teams

The Washington State Soccer Coaches Association announced its 2016 All-State teams earlier this week. The 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A classifications each have a first and second team, as well as a team of players receiving honorable mention.

Snohomish senior Eric Jones is the lone Wesco player who made one of the 4A squads, being named a first-team defender.

Several local 3A players were named to the team, including Glacier Peak senior midfielder Connor Seed, who was the classification’s MVP as well as a first-team midfielder. Edmonds-Woodway senior Ethan Hopkins was also a first-team midfielder. Glacier Peak senior Sahm Noorfeshan was a first-team goalkeeper. Lynnwood junior Dane Evanger was named a second-team forward, Marysville Pilchuck senior Christian Correa-Avila was a second-team midfielder, Glacier Peak junior Cameron Miller was a second-team defender as was Marysville Getchell junior Kyle Green. Lynnwood junior forward Ryley Johnson and Marysville Pilchuck senior Ariaan Cardenas were both named honorable mention forwards. Shorewood junior Garrett Miyaoka was an honorable mention midfielder, Marysville Pilchuck senior Baruc Galvan, Glacier Peak senior Tyler Mikulsky and Edmonds-Woodway junior Cameron Cohn were all honorable mention defenders and Marysville Pilchuck senior Kole Bradley-Kuk was an honorable mention goalkeeper.

The 2A classification was also well represented with locals. Archbishop Murphy junior Matt Williams was the classification’s MVP as well as a first-team forward. Archbishop Murphy senior Parker Buchanan also represented the 2A state champs as a first-team midfielder, as did junior Ryan Henderson as a first-team defender and freshman Daniel Mycroft as a first-team goalkeeper. Archbishop Murphy sophomore Sam Johnson was a second-team midfielder and junior teammate Diego Rios was a second-team defender. Shorecrest freshman Finn Hoffman was an honorable mention forward and his teammate, senior Leon Bormann, was an honorable mention defender.

Representing the local 1A schools, King’s junior Lars Helleren was named to the first-team as a defender and South Whidbey senior Lucas Lieberman was an honorable mention midfielder.
