Steven A. Rintamaki

Marine Cpl. Steven A. Rintamaki, 21, of Lynnwood died Sept. 16, 2004, when two suicide bombers blew themselves up in front of the Humvee on which the young corporal served as the gunner. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force based in Camp Pendleton, Calif. Rintamaki attended Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood and Westside Place, a private school in Seattle. He was six months away from coming home.
