Three Whidbey Island Naval Air Station sailors died April 6, 2007, when a rocket was fired at their vehicle. They are Navy Chief Petty Officer Gregory J. Billiter, 36, whose hometown is Villa Hills, Ky; Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Adam McSween, 26, of Valdosta, Ga.; and Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Curtis Hall, 24, whose family lives in Burley, Idaho. They all were members of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 11. Billiter’s wife and son and McSween’s wife and daughters were living in Oak Harbor at the time.
