Local connection: Everett Silvertips, coach

Best known as: Coach of first Silvertips teams

Era: 2003 through 2007

Coaching bio

Before Constantine came along, most Everett sports fans didn’t know a blue line from a red line. Thanks to Constantine, the city has become rabid with hockey hysteria. The first-ever coach of Everett’s Western Hockey League team, Constantine followed a similar blueprint for success that carried him in seven seasons as an NHL coach. He led the expansion Silvertips to a WHL expansion record 35 wins in 2003-04, not to mention a trip to the WHL finals, while being named the league’s coach of the year. In four seasons with the Silvertips, Constantine took four teams to the postseason before leaving to take a job with the AHL’s Houston Aeros in May 2007.
