In 24 seasons as coach of Everett and Ferndale high schools, Lowery piled up a 293-202 record. He won nine league championships and made five state-tournament appearances in 18 seasons as boys coach at Everett, from 1955 to 1973, before taking over as head coach at Everett Community College.
