Coaching bio

In running circles, Campbell has few peers. He is one of the most respected cross country coaches this state has ever had and has had unparalleled success as head coach of the high school that has been known as Edmonds and Edmonds-Woodway. With Campbell running the show, the school won 11 state championship titles -- six boys and five girls -- and also finished among the top four in the state eight other times. He was named the state's cross country coach of the year in 1983. Campbell has also been well-respected off the track, having created the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association and served as president for 12 years. In 2004, Campbell was inducted into the WIAA Hall of Fame, in an impressive class that also included John Stockton, Ron Santo and Jack Thompson.
