Boeing honors 2 Snohomish County companies

Two companies in Snohomish County won top honors last week from the Boeing Co.

Boeing recognized 16 companies and one university during its 2012 Supplier of the Year awards ceremony last Thursday.

The awards are based on meeting or exceeding quality, on-time delivery, post-delivery support and affordability goals. Boeing also takes into account a company’s ability to anticipate and respond to changing requirements.

“We count on these important partners to help us deliver market-leading products and services that satisfy our customers,” Jim McNerney, Boeing CEO, said in a statement.

Everett’s Kaman Engineering Services received a supplier of the year award. The company provides engineering support in a variety of areas — composites, tooling, metals.

“Our team has and continues to provide value added cost saving solutions for Boeing across the 747 and 787 platforms,” Greg Steiner, president of Kaman Aerospace Group, said in a statement. “We are very proud of our engineering capabilities and very grateful to Boeing for this recognition.”

R.B. Enterprises, which supplies machined parts, also won Boeing recognition. The company is located in Mukilteo.

Boeing also honored three Puget Sound area companies: Skanska USA and Teague, both located in Seattle; Woodinville’s TW Metals, Inc.

The Chicago-based Boeing Co. spends about $50 billion annually with 23,000 suppliers around the world.

The suppliers honored last week “represent the best of a high-performing, global supply chain that keeps us at the forefront of technology and innovation,” McNerney said.

A full list of the companies receiving honors can be viewed on Boeing’s website.
