Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers has appointed Annie Cole as the Snohomish County director of Human Resources. Cole is an attorney who has worked as a human resources professional for large public sector agencies in Washington and California. She will replace Ricardo Cruz who has served as the interim Director since January.

Duke’s Chowder House CEO to talk at J. Matheson Gifts in Everett

J.Matheson Gifts, Kitchen & Gourmet is hosting a cooking demonstration and book signing featuring Duke Moscrip, CEO of Duke’s Chowder House and co-author of the seafood cookbook, “As Wild As It Gets” that was co-created with executive chef “Wild” Bill Ranniger. The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 6 at 2615 Colby Ave., Everett.

McClain Insurance sponsors Cinema Under the Stars series

The Cinema Under the Stars outdoor movie series returns on Friday evenings in July and August. Thanks to the support of sponsors, including McClain Insurance, admission is free. Evergreen Beauty College offers free haircuts for kids going back to school

Evergreen Beauty College is once again Bringing Beauty Back to School. The event from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 takes place at both the Everett and Renton campuses.
