Ed Buendia has been appointed dean of the School of Educational Studies at the University of Washington Bothell. He takes over on Aug. 1, after current dean Bradley Portin goes on sabbatical. Most recently, Buendia served as chair of the Department of Education, Culture and Society at the University of Utah Salt Lake City.

Bothell’s Seattle Genetics reports increase earnings in 2nd quarter

Bothell-based Seattle Genetics has reported financial results for the second quarter ended June 30. Total revenues in the quarter and six month periods ended June 30, 2016 increased to $95.4 million and $206.6 million, respectively, compared to $77.1 million and $159.3 million from the same periods in 2015. The report included recent pipeline and other highlights.

Monroe’s Healthy Family Chiropractic collects school supplies

Healthy Family Chiropractic in Monroe will host a Fill the Bus campaign to collect school supplies for local children from Aug. 1 to 18. Apply for tourism grants in Snohomish County

Snohomish County is accepting applications for lodging tax grants from non-profit and public tourism entities with a demonstrated ability to draw tourism and overnight stays in the county. Details of eligibility and other program requirements are included in the application package that is due by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2. Applications can be found here.

New virtual care offered by Skagit Regional Health

Skagit Regional Health is expanding access to health care with the launch of a new service called MyEClinic. MyEClinic offers care for simple medical conditions 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year over the phone or via video chat, including SkypeTM and FaceTime. Each visit costs a flat rate of $40.
