EVERETT — The Port of Everett hopes to get people into the holiday spirit Dec. 11 with a celebration for boaters and the community at large that will include a holiday farmers/craft market, a number of school choirs, and a lighted boat parade.

The event, which starts at 1 p.m. and continues until 10 p.m., is intended to attract families to the waterfront and its restaurants and other businesses at what would normally be a slow time.

It’s the third year of the port’s celebration, and this year has a number of new activities. Most of the events will be at Port Gardner Landing off 15th Street and W. Marine View Drive near Lombardi’s Restaurant. Visitors should park in the South Marina area.

Events include:

A holiday farmers market that includes crafts from 1 to 6 p.m.

Wine tasting at Meyers Cafe from 1 to 6 p.m.

A Radio Disney holiday program for children from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

A Everett Yacht Club Luncheon from 2 to 4 p.m. at 404 14th St. for members and the general public featuring chili and cornbread and including no-host beverages. Attendees are asked to bring a shared dish, either hot or cold.

Santa will visit the Yacht Club for pictures from 3 to 4 p.m.

Singers in five choirs from the Everett School District will perform from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

The lighted boat parade begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends about an hour later. Visitors can view lighted boats in the harbor from 7 to 8 p.m. Everyone’s invited to the Yacht Club from 8 to 10 p.m. for holiday desserts and for an awards presentation for the decorated boats.

The Sea Scouts will collect canned food and for Toys for Tots during the events.
