ARLINGTON — National chain Tractor Supply Company plans to open in the former Food Pavilion in Arlington.
Remodeling work is under way on the 34,500-square-foot store at 17020 Smokey Point Blvd. The store is expected to open in August.
The company expects to employ an 15 full- and part-time workers at the site.
A fenced exterior space will be used for storage and displaying items such as fencing, sprayers and livestock equipment.
It will be the 37th location in the state for the Brentwood, Tennessee-based comapny.
“Tractor Supply looks forward to being a member of the Arlington community,” said Gary Vetter, district manager, in a statement. “Arlington is a great fit for Tractor Supply due to the horse owners and part-time and hobby farmers in the area. Many of our new customers are pleasantly surprised by our unique mix of product offerings, which in addition to farm products and hardware, also includes pet food and supplies and clothing items for the entire family.”
The contractor for the project, Lakeview Construction Inc., began construction on June 6.
Tractor Supply Company operates more than 1,500 stores in 49 states including 37 in Washington.
The company offers merchandise for the health, care, growth and containment of horses, livestock and pets as well as tools, lawn and garden items and power equipment. The stores also sell work/recreational clothing and footwear for the entire family and maintenance products for agricultural and rural use.
