Thanks for the update and the question. The baseball rankings are compiled by Lem Elway. He was a longtime coach and has coordinated the state polls for 26 years. He assigns rankings based on responses from coaches across the state. Cedarcrest is clearly a talented team and I'm excited to see how the Red Wolves do in the postseason. But Elway's rankings are based on actual performance, not on the potential a team has. In other words, just because a team returns all of its key players from the previous season it won't necessarily be ranked high unless it excels on the field.
