Ichiro Should Never Go
Ichiro is unreplaceable. There is a lot of noise that has been coming out of Seattle blogs about Ichiro being trade bait, as in, "If we can get a lot of 'good' prospects for him", or by a Seattle sports columnist, "Baseball teams cannot afford to have a singles hitter in right field, which is a power position." Nuts! A guy who hits for average, 200 hits a year, gets to the ballpark early everyday, does his job, and keeps his mouth shut is someone you want on your team, period. There is no way to replace 200 hits a year, or a 300 plus batting average. Get your power at some other position. By the way, they call them "prospects" because they have not played full time at the MLB level. Ichiro is a hall of fame guy, there are not a lot of them around, so you get out your check book, whenever you need to, and keep 200 hits a year in Seattle.
