Pitching & 3rd Base Prospects, High A Ball
It is a shame to hear about Field's injury. Hope he recovers soon. There are not many pitching prospects in the Mariners system, but one I should mention as well as a 3rd base prospect. Two names, Alex Liddi at third and Donald Hume as a starting pitcher. They play for the High Desert Mavericks. Liddy at third in 414AB is at 350BA, 23HR, 40BB, and 1.065OPS - wow! I saw him play last week and he is the real deal, but perhaps a little slow fielding his position. And then, conisder this as a starting pitcher. Donald Hume is 14-5, 126IP, 99SO, but 43BB. Yes, 99SO in 126IP and 14-5 - wow again!. These guys have proved themselves at the A level, I wonder why they have not been moved up? I know high A ball is a long way from MLB, so these two players are maybe a few years from playing with the Mariners. BUT, these kids have serious game!
