Art and artists on display at Fresh Paint

Everett’s annual festival of artists, Fresh Paint, stretches along the Everett Marina from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday.

More than 75 artists, including wood turners, welders, silversmiths, painters, printers and weavers, will demonstrate and sell their work at this free community event sponsored by the Schack Art Center.

Glass artists will demonstrate their craft at the outdoor hot shop. Try your hand at creating your own fused glass masterpiece with artist Janet Foley, watch ceramic artist Steve Dalton throw a pot or take a photography lesson from Randall Hodges.

Hop the free ferry to Jetty Island at the 10th Street Park to begin combing the beach at 10 a.m. today for sea glass floats made in Schack’s hot shop for the fifth annual Float Find.

Also Saturday the Seattle Metals Guild will have a Jewelry Trunk Show from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Schack, 2921 Hoyt Ave., with work from 15 jewelry artist.

The Everett Marina is at 1700 W. Marine View Drive. Fresh Paint visitors can park for free at Everpark, 2815 Hoyt Ave., and ride Everett Transit bus No. 5 to the marina for 75 cents for adults and 50 cents for 6- to 18-year-olds.
