“Autumn Artistry”: The Marysville Arts Coalition presents a family-friendly two-day art show and sale on Nov. 8 and 9 at the Red Curtain Art Center, 1410 Grove St., Marysville (the former Dunn Lumber building). The show runs from 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 8 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 9. Works by local artists participating in the show include paintings, glass objects, photographs, jewelry, stained glass pieces, textiles and decorative gourds. Activities for include a craft table for kids, free photo opportunities with Pilgrim caricatures, free refreshments and raffle prizes. Paul Christensen paintings: Oils painted from the artist’s digital photographs are on view in a juried solo show through November at Mill Creek City Hall, 15728 Main St., Mill Creek. Sales of Christensen’s paintings are donated to the Wounded Warrior fund, a program that assists veterans who have been injured in service to their country.

Waterworks 2013: Fifty paintings by members of the Northwest Watercolor Society will be on view through Nov. 22 at Tsuga Fine Art and Framing, 10101 Main St., Bothell. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For details, call 425-391-9553.

Celebrate the museums 40th anniversary with “40 for 40,” a look back at the museum’s history, which runs through Feb. 9. The exhibit includes artifacts from the museum’s collection.

Everett Community College: The Russell Day Gallery, 2000 Tower St.; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays; closed Saturdays and Sundays; www.everettcc.edu. Recent contemporary photographs by Everett Community College photography instructors Lloyd Weller and Ellen Felsenthal will be on display through Dec. 6. Weller, who has taught at EvCC for 44 years, will show landscape and composite photography. Felsenthal will show work from her August horse trek across Mongolia and a series of abstractions integrating animals into landscapes.

Two shows of words in glass are on view through Nov. 8. “A Glass Canvas” features well known artists including Walter Leiberman and Cappy Thompson, who specialize in “grisaille,” gray-tonal painting on glass, and artists who work in etching, carving and engraving blown glass. “Innovation” features work by new artists from the Pilchuck Glass School, Jessie Blackmer, Lea Bucknell, Clark DeCapite, Elizabeth Fortunato, Anthony Sonnenberg and Juliana Wisdom.

The Sisters: 2804 Grand Ave., Everett; 425-252-0480; 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. “Palate Palette,” is a group exhibit with a food theme, especially fruit, vegetables, coffee and chocolate. The show will run through Jan. 11. Artists include Roxanne Jaross, Gale Johansen, Emiliya Lane, Irina Milton and Suzanne de Cillia.

We are Art: The Gallery at ArtSpace Everett Lofts, 2917 Hoyt Ave., Everett; www.facebook.com/ArtspaceEverettLofts. “Be Encouraged,” beaded jewelry and crafts by Nicole Selene, runs through Nov. 14. The artist, who has cerebral palsy, is an advocate for people with disabilities, encouraging them to find their creative “voice.”

Art and artists include Tim Potter’s puzzle fish and animal creations, Roger White’s free-standing driftwood sculptures, Bob Higbee’s wooden vases and Lynne Adams’ Hawaiian jewelry.

Janie Cribbs has been painting owls for a long time, mainly on found wood. Also, Maggie Hanley-Welles is a watercolorist whose many pieces are of local scenes or people or florals or abstracts.

Skagit County

La Conner Quilt &Textile Museum: 703 S Second St., La Conner; 360-466-4288; www.laconnerquilts.com. “Inspired to Design: Art Quilts by Elizabeth Barton,” contemporary or art quilts, runs through Nov. 24. “Abstracted,” an exhibit by the Fiber Art Network from Western Canada, explores the concept of realistic and abstract art. Pairs of artists illustrate their subject: one in a representative piece and one in an abstract or nonrepresentative piece. Through Dec. 29.
