She’s going on a bat hunt, and she’ll take you along.
“Bat Lady” Barbara Ogaard has spend more than 30 years studying, rehabilitating and restoring the much-maligned flying mammals’ good name.
Ogaard will talk about the Northwest’s bat species and their role in the environment at a seminar from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Edmonds Wildlife Native Plant Demonstration Garden. Then she’ll take the class out on a bat walk to demonstrate how to safely observe the creatures.
This free seminar is a good event for the whole family. The garden is at Willow Creek Hatchery, 95 Pine St. off Highway 104 in Edmonds. Contact Susie Schaefer at susie.schaefer@comcast.net or call 425-771-8165.
