On a warm sunny day a few years ago I biked from Redmond to Gas Works Park along the Burke Gilman Trail. It was one of those great days — not too hot, low wind — that cyclists love.
Wednesday I’m going to try to do some thing similar from the north end. My plan is to hop on my bike in the morning, take the Interurban Trail through Everett to the North Creek Trail in Mill Creek. From there I’ll catch the Sammamish River Trail, which turns into the Burke Gilman Trail and is what I plan on taking to Gas Works.
Hopefully the weather cooperates.
One thing that will be interesting is the detour I’ll have to take around the construction on the Burke Gilman Trail near Logboom Park. The detour looks like it’ll take me up around the neighborhoods of Lake Forest Park and then dumps me back onto the trail near 45th. Here’s a quick video about the improvements and the detour.
I’ll also be Tweeting during my journey, so follow along on Twitter @swaney_aaron79..
