The Mill Creek store brings in Temairik, a Seattle illustrator, to share her new children’s book, “Alice &Lucy Will Work for Bunk Beds.” The story is about two sister bears who take a job at a bakery to earn money for a bunk bed. The store is located in the Mill Creek Town Center.

The author will talk about and sign copies of her new biography “Looking for Betty MacDonald: The Egg, the Plague, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, and I” at the Lake Forest Park book store. The biography reveals the story behind MacDonald’s memoirs set in the Northwest and the difference between the real Betty MacDonald and her literary persona.

The Seattle author will talk about and sign copies of her new book “Orchids of War” at the book store on Fifth Avenue in Edmonds. The book is set in Seattle, San Francisco and Hawaii during World War II.

Thayer is a University of Washington writing instructor and the author of 14 novels, including “House of Eight Orchids.” Ayers co-hosts the internet radio show “Beyond the Cover,” is a freelance book reviewer and is the author of several books. The best-selling mystery writer, a favorite at the Mill Creek Town Center store, will talk about and sign copies her 17th novel about Cochise County, Arizona, sheriff Joanna Brady. This time around, in “Downfall,” Brady has a full plate of personal problems and the mysterious deaths of two women who fell off a nearby peak.
