The Dance School in Everett is presenting excerpts from “The Nutcracker,” at 3 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Village Theater’s Second Stage at the Everett Performing Arts Center.

The students, ages 7 to 17, will perform some of the signature dances, such as the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Russian and Chinese dances, and a solo by Clara, with minimal costumes and staging.

It’s an opportunity for the young dancers to perform before an audience as the school develops the show each year until it presents a full-length version.

Tickets are $5, but seating is limited in the small theater at the Youth Education Center, 2730 Wetmore Ave., Everett. Call 425-259-6861 for information.
