Click in to the Washington State Parks and Recreation website these days and you’ll find your way around more easily at the new site.

Go to www.parks.wa.gov and check it out. There are videos, slide shows, tour ideas, interactive park maps and clear navigation to purchase passes and make reservations at the state’s more than 100 parks and recreation sites.

Select camping facilities or vacation houses, for instance, and the site takes you directly to the park of your choice with descriptions, rates and a link to reservations on the same page.

You can also create your own personal account and go directly to the areas you visit most often. Or sign up for alerts and automatic updates for park closures, agency events, or meeting announcements.

There are also calendars of events taking place at the parks and schedules of meetings.

Share your favorite state park adventure on the new State Parks’ blog site at www.AdventureAwaits.com, or read what other hikers and campers have to say.

Yes, you can even enjoy Washington’s beautiful outdoors without leaving the comfort of your computer chair.
