With Feb. 2 drawing near, it’s time once again for Snohomish to leap ahead of Punxsutawney Phil and his seasonal forecast with the city’s annual GroundFrog Day celebration on Saturday.

The “frognosicating” amphibian, Snohomish Slew, will predict the start of spring in the city festival at Ferguson Park, 1330 Ferguson Park Road.

Expect Slew to hop things off with his forecast at 10:30 a.m. Seafair’s pirate ship, The Moby Duck, will be docked at the boat launch on Blackmans Lake, and a hydroplane will be on display.

The Frogorama continues with live music, games and children’s crafts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the National Guard Armory nearby at 1501 Ave. D. It’s all free. Call 360-568-2526 or go to www.cityofsnohomish.com for more information.
