Hear New Age artist in Snohomish

David Lanz, a musician known for helping to forge the New Age music movement, is coming to Snohomish and bringing some Beatles music along with his well-known works.

This will be an intimate evening of music as this contemporary instrumentalist delivers a solo performance with a selection that includes “Return To The Heart,” “A Whiter Shade of Pale,” “Dark Horse” and “Cristofori’s Dream.”

Also, Lanz is presenting some of his solo piano arrangements off his Beatle’s inspired CDs, “Here Comes The Sun” and “Liverpool: Re-Imagining the Beatles in 2010.”

The David Lanz Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish.

Ensemble Concert: The Cascade Symphony Orchestra’s 50th season celebration continues with a program of small ensemble performances of chamber music favorites.

This ensemble concert will feature varied chamber ensembles from all sections of the orchestra, including a trumpet and bass drum duo, a viola quartet, a variety of wind duos, a string quintet and selections from the popular Cascade Percussion Ensemble, according to press information.

The Ensemble Concert starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers St., Edmonds.
