Learn about the state’s native trumpeter and tundra swans at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 NE Camano Drive.

Martha Jordan, a swan biologist and chairwoman of the Washington Swan Stewards, will discuss the birds’ life history, biology and provide swan identification tips.

Jordan also will shed some light on the problems and controversies these birds face at their wintering ground, including the swan lead poisoning die-off, habitat issues and what is needed to ensure their future.

Jordan will also share photos that help clarify the difficult identification of these swans.

The Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks, hosts this public presentation
