“The Dinner Party”: Neil Simon’s comedy is presented by The Outcast Players, who perform this chaotic look at marriage and divorce.
The set-up is a French dinner party. Certain couples have been invited to eat together in a private dining room in a high-class restaurant in Paris but no one seems to know the nature of the event or why they have all been invited.
“The Dinner Party” runs through Jan. 20 at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett.
Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for students, seniors and military and $7 for children under 12. Call 425-258-6766 or at the box office or online at www.everetttheatre.org/, or at Back Porch Wine &Spirits 11014 19th Ave. SE, Everett.
“An Evening with Seattle Writers”: Two best-selling authors and an anesthesiologist who writes about public health will have their books put to life on Jan. 16 as part of the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts Literary Series.
The event, presented by WICA and Whidbey Island’s Hedgebrook Women’s Writers Retreat, is a chance to meet some best-selling authors as well as to check out the local acting talent.

There will also be a moderated discussion among the writers about their writing process and what they’re working on and a short question-and-answer session with the audience. Books will be available for purchase.
