Mothers can get free boat ride at Cama Beach

Give Mom something to float her boat.

Mothers get a free boat ride from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at at The Center for Wooden Boats at Cama Beach State Park, 1880 S. West Camano Drive, Camano Island.

View classic wooden boats, build toy boats, and take a ride on the Umiaqs, built like Arctic sealskin boats, and the Joshua, a replica of Joshua Slocum’s famous boat Spray. In the 1890s, the seaman became the first person to solo circumnavigate the globe.

Families can also build tiny boats together using hand tools and wooden hulls.
